Only for nightscapes. If you shoot deep-sky targets (nebulae, galaxies, no landscape), DeepSkyStacker is free and excellent and NightScape Lab isn't aimed at that work. For a Milky Way arch over a real foreground, NightScape Lab's dual-stream approach is the better fit.
Can DeepSkyStacker do nightscapes at all?
It can stack the sky beautifully, but because it aligns everything to the stars, a fixed foreground tends to blur. People work around it with masks and manual blending; NightScape Lab does that separation for you and then hands you an editable Photoshop document, with the sky mask as a layer, to finish.
